Test facilities

The combination of ECN; the Energy research Centre of the Netherlands and Dahlman; a specialized commercial company is strong. As a specialised OEM, Dahlmans product development is focused on clients and project based. Dealing with industrial projects in an efficient practical way is our daily business. ECN has its expertise in fundamental research and develops lab and pilot scale installations. Together we can cover the complete depth of product development; from idea to pilot to successful commercial installations.

In this section we give an overview of our combined test and experimental facilities for Biomass gasification. 

1. Lab scale bubbling fluidized bed gasification unit. Produces approx 2 Nm3/hr product gas
2. Lab scale indirect gasifier, the Milena, 25 kW(th),
3. Lab scale OLGA for tar removal. Suitable for 2 Nm³/hr product gas
4. Lab scale hot gas filter for solids removal. Suitable for 6½ Nm³/hr product gas 500 ºC and suitable for 3 ceramic or stainless steel high temperature filter elements.
5. Pilot plant scale indirect gasifier, the Milena 800 kW(th) (new, under construction!)
6. Pilot plant scale OLGA for tar removal. Suitable for 200 Nm³/hr product gas.
7. Pilot plant scale hot gas filter unit, which can be equipped with 4 classical bags or 15 stainless steel or ceramic high temperature elements. Design 500 ºC, 8 barg, fully stainless steel.

Besides above mentioned installations Dahlman as well as ECN have much more test equipment. Furthermore, we have also the possibility to execute gas analysis and tar sample taking on site. Where after we can analyze the samples in our laboratories by one of our highly qualified analysts. Please feel free to inform us about your wishes.
